Key documentation services for animal transport
Navigating the paperwork for animal imports and exports can be complex. At Extrordinair, we provide expert documentation support, ensuring compliance with all health certificates, import licences, and transport documentation required for your shipment. Whether you need health certificates, CITES permits, or commercial import paperwork, our team will guide you through the process, ensuring your animals meet all regulatory requirements for safe and legal transport.

Import and export permits
Importing and exporting live animals requires official permits to comply with regulations set by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), and international standards. We assist in securing the necessary permits for smooth entry and exit, helping businesses avoid delays and compliance issues.

Health certificates & veterinary documentation
(pets/non-commercial only): For movements of cats, dogs and ferrets, a GB Pet Health certificate is required for entry into the United Kingdom.
Most live animals entering the UK will require a health certificate.
Our team ensures your documentation is completed accurately and in line with veterinary inspection requirements at UK Border Control Posts.

CITES permits for endangered species
For movements involving protected or endangered species, CITES permits are mandatory. We provide guidance on the application process, documentation requirements, and international compliance standards, ensuring legal and ethical animal transport.

Customs clearance & AEO-certified support
As an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), Extrordinair offers end-to-end customs documentation support, expediting clearance for commercial animal imports. Our services include:
- Customs declarations and VAT processing for businesses importing animals for sale, breeding, or conservation.
- Temporary import entries for research and exhibition animals, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.

Border Control Post (BCP) entry documentation
Animal shipments that do not qualify under the Pet Travel Scheme must enter through an approved Border Control Post (BCP) for veterinary inspection. As Scotland’s only independent BCP for small animals and conservation birds, we handle all required paperwork for import approval and inspection clearance at Edinburgh Airport.
